Will it really give her joy? It's material. I can't help but wonder if she will really be happy when it happens, even though I know the answer.
Habbakuk 3:17-19
Though the fig tree does not bud
and there are no grapes on the vines,
though the olive crop fails
and the fields produce no food,
though there are no sheep in the pen
and no cattle in the stalls,
yet I will rejoice in the Lord,
I will be joyful in God my Savior.
and there are no grapes on the vines,
though the olive crop fails
and the fields produce no food,
though there are no sheep in the pen
and no cattle in the stalls,
yet I will rejoice in the Lord,
I will be joyful in God my Savior.
The Sovereign Lord is my strength;
he makes my feet like the feet of a deer, he enables me to tread on the heights.
he makes my feet like the feet of a deer, he enables me to tread on the heights.
Psalm 16:11
You make known to me the path of life;
you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand.
you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand.
In HIS presence is the fullness of joy. Search for HIM. Despite the circumstances, the bad days, the good days, only HE can pour out true joy.
I pray she finds that. This thing won't help her, I know it. HE will.

What are you looking to for joy?

When I'm thin, when my house is organized, when I sell another book...the list goes on and on. Except that I've found true joy comes only in loving and obeying my Savior. Not joy made by man, but joy given by God Himself. The kind that runs over!
ReplyDelete"Things" come and go. He doesn't. Worshiping Him and focusing on Him is all any of us can do for life's success. ALL WE CAN DO. I need to remember that every minute of every day. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteSuch beautiful truth. He is the only One who satisfies. As Misty Edwards sings, "all the other lovers fade away." He alone is what we must seek to stay full of JOY!
